Hurt in Marriage

Dec 7, 2014    Brad Snyder    Luke 6:32-36

Luke 6:32-36, a passage about loving your enemies, is not often read with marriage in mind. But marriage is a context where enemies are often made. A moment of inconsideration can hurt a spouse more than a slanderous attack by someone else. Marriage was meant to point to God, but when we use marriage as a place to hide or blame-shift, it is no longer a place of grace and unity. How we relate to others when we sin and when they sin reveals our true grasp of the gospel.
