SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The Youth Ministry Director position exists to serve the Veritas families and the surrounding community by leading the youth ministry to disciple Middle and High School Students at the Tri-City Congregation and by reaching the youth in the surrounding community to know and follow Jesus.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and coordinate the Sunday Morning Middle School classes, weekly youth gatherings, and periodic outreach events targeting youth and children
- Faithfully teach the gospel and facilitate Bible studies and discussions for the youth
- Train and oversee volunteers to serve at all youth ministry classes, events, and activities
- Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for youth gatherings, in accordance with Veritas policies and procedures
- Build relationships with students and their families to encourage spiritual growth
- Assist in selecting and preparing teaching materials and curriculum
- Communicate regularly with parents to provide updates and resources for family discipleship
- Participate in church-wide events and initiatives that involve youth
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A strong commitment to Christian faith and alignment with Veritas Community Church’s theological beliefs
- Proven ability to connect with and disciple youth
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Willingness to be trained and mentored in ministry leadership
- Previous experience in youth ministry is preferred but not required
- Applicant may be subject to a Theological Assessment
