4.19.26 - West Sunday Gathering Liturgy

Leader: Hebrews 12 tells us that we have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels. And we have come to the assembly of those who are registered in heaven, and to Jesus the Mediator of a new covenant.

Congregation: Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us serve God with the help of his grace. Let us worship him with reverence and wonder this morning. 

Leader: Lord, we confess that too often we don't remember that we live in your kingdom here on earth. Our hearts are pulled by distractions, idols and sin. We confess that we do not act as though you have conquered death and have power over darkness.

Congregation: Lord God, forgive us for our lack of trust in your character and in your plan of redemption. Help us believe that you truly are sovereign over this earth. Give us grace to

Leader: Loving God, the heavens are open wide since Jesus, our Redeemer, has entered through the veil and opened up a way for us to follow.

Congregation: We thank you for this new and living way by which we join the millions who are with you forever. Lift up our hearts to heaven, that we may set our lives on your kingdom and follow your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Leader: As you go from here, remember that you are dearly loved and have a place in heaven. Remember that because of Jesus, the kingdom of God has come and you are in it. May you feel the joy of belonging to Him this week. Peace be with you!
