Leader: A reading from Psalm 16: Protect me, God, for I take refuge in you. I said to the Lord, "You are my Lord; I have nothing good besides you."

Grant us patience to live with pain, frustration and disappointment, and renew our hope in you when we are weary. Renew our spirits, even when our bodies are not being renewed, that we may live as your disciples, proclaiming your love and goodness. We thank you for your promise to never leave us. Amen.
