Good Friday Gathering Liturgy - April 3, 2026
Pause to reflect on the readings, prayers, and songs we share in together as the body of Christ at Veritas Worship Gatherings
MOVEMENT #1 - IN THE GARDEN
Leader: who, though rich, became poor and dwelt among us;
who healed the broken and walked as a teacher, servant and friend;
who prayed for those who rejected him and loved even those who denied him; who bore our sin and humbled himself to the point of the cross.
Congregation: Therefore God has exalted him—
the One who has redeemed us from sin and given us freedom.
May we live in grateful remembrance of all Christ has done and continues to do for us. Amen.

MOVEMENT #3: SCOURGED AND CARRIED THE CROSS
Congregation: We confess that we have gone astray, choosing our own ways over Yours, Lord.
Leader: Jesus, who knew no sin, on this Good Friday, took on our sickness and endured the torment of our sufferings to become sin for us.
Jesus, our Shepherd King, stood silent, led like a gentle lamb to the slaughter, bearing the punishment for our sin.
Jesus, our Emmanuel, surrendered himself to the Father’s will so that by his sacrifice we would be made completely whole.
Congregation: Jesus, we thank you that you bore our sins in your body on the cross, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By your wounds we are healed.
- Based on Isaiah 53, 2 Corinthians 5:21 and 1 Peter 2:24
