3.1.26 - Short North Sunday Gathering Liturgy

Short North Sunday Gathering Liturgy - March 1, 2026

Pause to reflect on the readings, prayers, and songs we share in together as the body of Christ at Sunday morning worship Gatherings.

CALL TO WORSHIP

Leader: Let us worship God, who has done great things.

CongregationWe rejoice in our God, who made a way
through the desert of this world.

Leader: Let us worship God, who has caused streams of mercy
to flow in the wasteland.

CongregationWe are the people God has formed through Christ;
we worship him, and we rejoice!

Let us worship God in spirit and in truth.

CongregationWe praise God for the grace that has saved us.
Alleluia! We rejoice!

— Based on Isaiah 43:19-21

COMMITMENT

CongregationLord, we commit ourselves to delighting in your abundance.
Lord, we commit ourselves to trusting in your righteousness.
Lord, we commit ourselves to seeking your deliverance.
Lord, we commit ourselves to following your instruction on our hearts.
Lord, we commit ourselves to resting in your refuge.

Amen!

BENEDICTION

Leader: Journey with us, O holy God,
as we continue our way to the cross.
May you sharpen our focus, that our attention
may center more on you than ourselves.
Lead us through the shadows of darkness and prepare our hearts,
that we might be a people of prayer,
ready to perceive and respond to your Son and our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Peace be with you

CongregationAnd also with you!

When death had claimed its victory
The King of love had given up His life
The darkest day in history

There on a cross they made for sinners
For every curse His blood atoned
One final breath and it was finished
But not the end we could have known

For the earth began to shake, and the veil was torn
What sacrifice was made, as the heavens roared

All hail, King Jesus, All hail the Lord of heaven and earth

There was a moment when the sky lit up
A flash of light breaking through

The King of life was on the move

For in a dark, cold tomb, where our Lord was laid
One miraculous breath, and we're forev-er changed

None but Jesus
Crucified to set me free
Now I live to bring Him praise

Rock of Ages
Verse 1
Rock of Ages, cleft for me, Let me hide myself in Thee;
Let the water and the blood, From thy wounded side which flowed,
Be of sin the double cure; Save from wrath and make me pure.

Verse 2
Not the labors of my hands, Can fulfill thy law's commands;
Could my zeal no respite know, Could my tears forever flow,
All for sin could not atone; Thou must save, and thou alone.

Verse 3
Nothing in my hand I bring, Simply to the cross I cling;
Naked, come to thee for dress; Helpless, look to thee for grace;
Foul, I to the fountain fly; Wash me, Savior, or I die.

Bridge

Verse 4
While I draw this fleeting breath, When mine eyes shall close in death,
When I soar to worlds unknown, See thee on thy judgment throne,
Rock of Ages, cleft for me, Let me hide myself in thee.

Ending:
Let me hide myself in thee. Let me hide myself in thee.
Spirit of the Living God
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.
Melt me, mold me, fill me, use me,
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.
Consider Him
Intro

Verse 1
For the joy set before him
He endured the cross
Knowing from the beginning
It would be worth the cost

Fix your eyes
O my soul
On the one
Who gave it all

Consider Him the Author and
The Finisher Oh lift your head and look to Him
The Son of Man
My weariness is swallowed in
The kindness of our covenant
Consider this, consider Him
He is everything

Verse 2
For the joy set before us
We will lay aside
Every weight, every burden
To behold our prize

Turn from all
Other things
Set our gaze
On the King

Focused on Your face
You won’t let us grow weary
We’re not made to sprint
It’s a pilgrimage
You won’t let us lose heart

He is everything
He is everything
He is everything
He is everything
