10.12.25 - Short North Sunday Gathering Liturgy

Short North Sunday Gathering Liturgy - October 12, 2025

Pause to reflect on the readings, prayers, and songs we share in together as the body of Christ at Sunday morning worship Gatherings.

CALL TO WORSHIP

Leader: Turn your eyes to him and behold his glory!
Turn your ears to him and receive his truth!
Turn your heart to him and remember his kindness to you!

CongregationWe turn to you in worship, Lord! How great you are!

COMMITMENT

Congregation: Eternal God,
open our eyes to see your hand at work
in the splendor of creation
and in the beauty of human life.
Touched by your hand, our world is holy.
Help us to cherish the gifts that surround us,
to share our blessings with our sisters and brothers,
and to experience the joy of life in your presence;
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, forever and ever. Amen.

BENEDICTION

Leader: In every season—joy or sorrow, beginning or end—
may you rest in the God who makes all things beautiful in their time.
Receive each day as His gift,
and trust that nothing is lost in His redemptive hands.
The God who entered our brokenness in Jesus
goes with you now,
to fill every moment with His grace and purpose.
Peace be with you.

CongregationAnd also with you!

Defender
Chorus
hallelujah, You have saved me
(It's) so much better Your way
And hallelujah, Great Defender
(It's) so much better Your way

Pre-Chorus
And all I did was praise
And all I did was worship
And all I did was bow down
And all I did was stay still

Chorus
hallelujah, You have saved me
(It's) so much better Your way
And hallelujah, Great Defender
(It's) so much better Your way
How Great Thou Art
Verse 1
O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder
consider all the worlds Thy hand hath made,
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy pow'r throughout the universe displayed

Verse 2
When through the woods and forest glades I wander
I hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees
When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur
and hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze

Chorus 1
Then sings my soul

Verse 3
And when I think that God, His Son not sparing,
sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in
That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin

Verse 4
When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation
And take me home what joy shall fill my heart
Then I shall bow in humble adoration,
and there proclaim, my God, how great Thou art!!

Chorus 1
Then sings my soul

Bridge
How great Your love for us! You shed Your blood for us!
How great Your love for us! You gave Your life for us!

Chorus 2
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee: How great You are, how great You are!
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee: How great You are, how great You are!
Abide With Me
Verse 1
Abide with me; fast falls the ev - en tide; The darkness deepens; Lord with me a - bide.
When other helpers, fail and com - forts flee, Help of the helpless, abide with me.

Verse 2
Thou on my head, in early youth didst smile; And, though rebellious, and perverse meanwhile,
Thou hast not left me, as I oft left Thee, On to the close Lord, abide with me.

Verse 3
I need Thy presence, every passing hour. What but Thy grace, can foil the tempter’s power?
Who, like Thyself, my guide and stay can be? Through cloud and sunshine, abide with me.

Verse 4
I fear no foe, with Thee at hand to bless, Ills have no weight, tears lose their bit - ter - ness
Where is thy sting death? Where grave thy Vi - ctor - y? I triumph still, abide with me.

Verse 5
Hold Thou Thy cross, before my clos - ing eyes;
Shine through the gloom, and point me to the skies.
Heaven’s morning breaks, and earth’s vain sha - dows flee;
In life, in death, Lord, abide with me.
In life, in death, Lord, abide with me.
Consider Him
Verse 1
For the joy set before him
He endured the cross
Knowing from the beginning
It would be worth the cost

Pre-Chorus 1
Fix your eyes
O my soul
On the one
Who gave it all

Chorus
Consider Him the Author and
The Finisher Oh lift your head and look to Him
The Son of Man
My weariness is swallowed in
The kindness of our covenant
Consider this, consider Him
He is everything

For the joy set before us
We will lay aside
Every weight, every burden
To behold our prize

Pre-Chorus 2
Turn from all
Other things
Set our gaze
On the King

We will run this race
Focused on Your face
You won’t let us grow weary
We’re not made to sprint
It’s a pilgrimage
You won’t let us lose heart

He is everything
He is everything
He is everything
He is everything

Christ is my firm foundation,
the Rock on which I stand

so why would He fail now?

I've got peace that makes no sense
So I won't be going under,
I'm not held by my own strength

He's faithful in еvery season,
so why would He fail now?

He won't fail He won't fail

'Cause my house is built on You
