West Sunday Gathering Liturgy - September 7,
2025
Carry Sunday with you into your week by pausing to reflect on the readings, prayers, and songs we shared in together as the body of Christ.
CALL TO WORSHIP
Leader: God, we bless you and thank you for calling us to share every good gift with each other. We pray that today will be a sharing of gifts.
Congregation: We pray for generous and open hearts, for the active and powerful work of your Spirit in this gathering, and that everyone here will experience the kind of fellowship that is only possible because of what Jesus has done for us. Amen.

CONFESSION AND ASSURANCE
Leader: Eternal God, in every age you have raised up men and women to live in faith and serve you as we serve each other. Forgive our indifference to your will.
Congregation: You have called us to do what is just, but we have been more concerned with our own power. You have called us to serve one another in love, but we have been self-centered. You have called us to show your love to the world, but we have been fearful. Have mercy on us. Keep us faithful so that, by the power of your Holy Spirit, we may grow in service and love.

COMMITMENT
Leader: The church is a gathering place of forgiven sinners called to be holy. Saved by the patient grace of God, we patiently serve each other.
Congregation: Restored in Christ's presence, shaped by his life, this community seeks to live out the ongoing story of God's reconciling love. We proclaim the new creation and work toward justice and peace. We commit ourselves to seeking and expressing the oneness of all who follow Jesus.

BENEDICTION
Leader: You are no longer strangers and foreigners, but you are citizens with the saints and also members of the household of God. Go in Christ to serve each other and bring the good news of God's love to a broken world. Remember that you are loved, you belong to the Lord, and you belong to each other. Peace be with you.
Congregation: And also with you!
