8.10.25 - West Sunday Gathering Liturgy

West Sunday Gathering Liturgy - August 10,
 2025

Carry Sunday with you into your week by pausing to reflect on the readings, prayers, and songs we shared in together as the body of Christ.

CALL TO WORSHIP

Leader: I rejoiced with those who said to me, "Let us go to the house of the Lord."

Congregation: God, as we gather here today, give us such wonder, love, and gratitude that we can't help but sing praises to you and joyfully honor your name. Amen.

From Psalm 122

CONFESSION AND ASSURANCE

Leader: Lord, in our limited understanding, it seems reckless to love people who can't love us in return. In our selfishness we want to love those who can love us back, and ignore those who fall short of what we think we deserve.

Congregation: Yet your love is not like our limited human love. Your love is steadfast and faithful. It does not run out. It is not based on what we deserve, but on who you are. Even when we are unfaithful to you, you meet us with mercy. Your lovingkindness is new every morning. Thank you for loving us no matter what. Give us hearts to receive your love with gratitude. Amen.

COMMITMENT

All: With joy we praise you, gracious God, who have created us in your image and given us your Spirit to live in our hearts. Give us joyful and grateful hearts as we look to you. Help us live the lives you've called us to, in joy and purpose. Amen.

BENEDICTION

Leader: Blessed is the congregation in which God is worshiped and his Word is proclaimed with conviction and joy; surrounded by gratitude for the Holy Spirit's work. May this be so in your lives this week.

Peace be with you.

Congregation: And also with you!
