West Sunday Gathering Liturgy - July 27,
2025
Carry Sunday with you into your week by pausing to reflect on the readings, prayers, and songs we shared in together as the body of Christ.
CALL TO WORSHIP
Leader: Come, you who feel unworthy. Come, you who carry guilt or regret. Come, you who have hidden in shame.
Congregation: The grace of God has found us. We are not defined by our failures.
Leader: The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. He lifts up the lowly and clothes those who are ashamed.
Congregation: We come to worship not because we are good, but because He is full of grace.

CONFESSION AND ASSURANCE
Leader: Shame is the voice that says, “You’re too far gone,” “You’ll never be enough,” “God could never love someone like you.” But grace tells a better story. Let us confess where shame still speaks too loudly in our lives, and listen again for the voice of the Father who runs to meet us.
Congregation: God of mercy, we carry what You have already forgiven. We wear shame like a cloak, and hide when You call us by name. We have believed lies about who we are and doubted Your love for us. Forgive us. Restore us. Let grace be the loudest voice.
Leader: Where sin increased, grace abounded all the more. Like the father in the parable of the Prodigal Son, God runs to the ashamed, wraps them in love, and restores them to belonging. You are forgiven. You are free. You are His.
Congregation: Thanks be to God! We are not condemned. We are covered in grace.

COMMITMENT
Leader: Church, your shame was not the end of your story. Jesus took it to the cross and left it in the grave. Now you live by grace, not by what you’ve done, but by what He has done for you.
Congregation: We are no longer defined by our past. We are not who we were. We are who He says we are: beloved, forgiven, free.
Leader: Let us live in that freedom. Let us walk in the light of His grace. Let us sing of that Living Hope.

BENEDICTION
Leader: Go now in the grace of Christ, who bore your shame and speaks your name in love. You are not forsaken. You are not forgotten. You are redeemed. Walk in the freedom of the cross and the power of His resurrection. Peace be with you.
Congregation: And also with you!
