7.13.25 - West Sunday Gathering Liturgy

West Sunday Gathering Liturgy - July 13,
 2025

Carry Sunday with you into your week by pausing to reflect on the readings, prayers, and songs we shared in together as the body of Christ.

CALL TO WORSHIP

Leader: God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Congregation: Though the earth gives way, though the mountains tremble, we will not fear for the Lord is with us.

Leader: There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, God is in her midst; she will not be moved.

Congregation: The Lord of hosts is with us. The God of Jacob is our fortress.

CONFESSION AND ASSURANCE

Leader: Lord, we confess that when the world trembles, we do too. We confess that we forget You are with us. We turn to our own strength, our own wisdom, our own ways.

Congregation: Forgive us, Lord. Still our restless hearts. Remind us that You are God, and we are not. Be our refuge and our strength.

Leader: Hear the voice of the Lord: “Be still, and know that I am God.” The Lord of hosts is with us. The God of Jacob is our fortress.

COMMITMENT

Leader: Though the nations rage and the earth gives way

Congregation: We will not fear, for the Lord is with us.

Leader: God is our refuge and strength, our ever-present help in trouble.

Congregation: We place our lives into His hands.

Leader: He calls us to be still, to let go of control, to trust in His power, not our own.

Congregation: We surrender our striving. We offer our whole lives to Him.

Leader: Take our hands and use them, take our minds and fill them, take our hearts and set them on fire for You.

Congregation: We are Yours—secure in who You say we are.

BENEDICTION

Leader: Go with this truth in your hearts: God is your refuge and strength, your ever-present help in trouble. He goes before you in power, and surrounds you with peace. Peace be with you.

Congregation: And also with you!
