7.13.25 - Short North Sunday Gathering Liturgy

Short North Sunday Gathering Liturgy - July 13, 2025

Pause to reflect on the readings, prayers, and songs we share in together as the body of Christ at Sunday morning worship Gatherings.

CONFESSION / ASSURANCE

Leader: Lord, Jesus, help us to believe with our whole lives that apart from You we can do nothing.

CongregationWe struggle with fear and anxiety when trials come. We battle sin and unbelief and often give in to temptation.

Leader: Show us daily that we can bring everything to You.

CongregationIn our confession of sins, remind us of Your grace and mercy.

Leader: Help us to believe in the truth of Your work on our behalf, Your death and sacrifice on the cross for our sins, giving us life and righteousness.

CongregationCause us to believe in You and help us to live lives that are dependent upon You, knowing that we find our hope and satisfaction only in You. Amen.

— Based on a prayer from Sojourn Church

COMMITMENT

Leader: But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ-by grace you have been saved- and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

CongregationFor by grace we have been saved through faith. And this is not our own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of our works, so that we may not boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

— Based on Ephesians 2:4-10

BENEDICTION

Leader: May the mercy of God fill your heart, soften your wounds, and overflow in love to those around you. You have been forgiven much—go now and forgive freely,
as He has forgiven you. Peace be with you.

Congregation: And also with you!

Song Lyrics:

Hermoso Nombre
Verse 1
Tú fuiste el verbo en el pricipio
El unigénito de Dios
El misterio de tu gloria
Revelado en tu amor

Chorus 1
Cuán hermoso su nombre es, Cuán hermoso su nombre es
El nombre de Jesús mi Rey
Cuán hermoso su nombre es, Nada se iguala a Él
Cuán hermoso su nombre es, No hay otro nombre

Verse 2
Dejaste el cielo por salvarme
Me viniste a rescatar
Mi transgresión tú perdonaste
Nada nos separará

Chorus 2

Abide With Me
Verse 1
Abide with me; fast falls the eventide; The darkness deepens; Lord with me abide.
When other helpers, fail and comforts flee, Help of the helpless, abide with me.

Verse 2
Thou on my head, in early youth didst smile; And, though rebellious, and perverse meanwhile,
Thou hast not left me, as I oft left Thee, On to the close Lord, abide with me.

Verse 3
I need Thy presence, every passing hour. What but Thy grace, can foil the tempter’s power?
Who, like Thyself, my guide and stay can be? Through cloud and sunshine, abide with me.

Verse 4
I fear no foe, with Thee at hand to bless, Ills have no weight, tears lose their bitterness
Where is thy sting death? Where grave thy Victory? I triumph still, abide with me.

Verse 5
Hold Thou Thy cross, before my closing eyes;
Shine through the gloom, and point me to the skies.
Heaven’s morning breaks, and earth’s vain sha - dows flee;
In life, in death, Lord, abide with me.
In life, in death, Lord, abide with me.
Mercy
Verse 1
My past embraced
My sin forgiven
I’m blameless in Your sight
My history rewritten

Chorus
Cause You delight in showing mercy
And mercy triumphs over judgement

Verse 2
Oh Love, great Love
Fear cannot be found in You
And there will never be a day
You’re uncertain of the ones you choose

Bridge
So I will awake, And spend my days
Loving the One who has raised me up
From death to life, From wrong to right
You’re making all things beautiful
Blood of Jesus
Verse 1
Where would I be without the cross
My sins were piled high with no way out
Underneath the weight
Of all my guilt and shame
Where would I be without the cross

Chorus
You save and redeem, You deliver, You set free
You save and redeem, You change everything
You save and redeem, You deliver, You set free
You save and redeem, You change everything

Verse 2
Where would I be without You, Jesus
You have done what no one else could do
Your love reached for me
And through Your blood I've been made clean
Now my life is found in only You

Bridge
It was nothing but the blood
Nothing but the blood
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
It was nothing but the blood
Nothing but the blood
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
