6.22.25 - West Sunday Gathering Liturgy

West Sunday Gathering Liturgy - June 22,
 2025

Carry Sunday with you into your week by pausing to reflect on the readings, prayers, and songs we shared in together as the body of Christ.

CALL TO WORSHIP

Leader: Though we are surrounded by voices of accusation— Though the world repays evil for good—

Congregation: We will lift our eyes to the God of mercy.

Leader: For He stands at the right hand of the needy, to save those who cry out.

Congregation: Let us worship the Lord, our faithful defender!

CONFESSION AND ASSURANCE

Leader: Lord, we confess: We have felt betrayed and angry— and have turned that anger against others. We have been wronged— and responded with bitterness instead of trust. We have wronged others— and tried to justify ourselves. We have spoken when we should have prayed, and stayed silent when we should have loved.

Congregation: Have mercy on us, O God. You know our hearts. You see our wounds. Forgive our sin and heal us by Your grace.

Leader: “But You, O God my Lord, deal on our behalf for Your name’s sake. According to the abundance of Your steadfast love, deliver us.” In Christ, your cries are heard, your guilt is removed, and your wounds are being healed.

Congregation: Thanks be to God.

COMMITMENT

Leader: Even when the world is unjust— Christ is our justice. Even when our hearts rage— Christ is our peace. Even when we are shaken— Christ is our firm foundation.

Congregation: We will trust in Him. We will build our lives on His love. We will follow where He leads.

BENEDICTION

Leader: Go now with honest hearts— Hearts that cry out and trust. Go in the mercy of the One who hears your anger, restores your wounds, and holds your life secure. Peace be with you.

Congregation: And also with you!
