12.8.24 - Short North Gathering Liturgy

Short North Sunday Gathering Liturgy - December 8,
 2024

Carry Sunday with you into your week by pausing to reflect on the readings, prayers, and songs we shared in together as the body of Christ.

CALL TO WORSHIP

Leader: Our souls magnify the Lord! Our spirits rejoice in God our Savior!

Congregation: The Mighty One has done great things for us! Let us worship our Maker and our Redeemer! Holy is our God!

— Based on Luke 1:46-50

CONFESSION AND ASSURANCE

Congregation: Spirit of God, open our hearts to receive Jesus. May we continually know and experience more of Christ, our Emmanuel, the God who is with us.

Fill all of our longing with your hope and joy, Bring us each day out of our darkness  into the light of the glory of God. Amen.

COMMITMENT

Congregation: May the Wonderful Counselor guide us into the light of his truth.
May the Mighty God deliver us from all evil.
May the Everlasting Father comfort us with his tender love.
May the Prince of Peace lead us to live in eternal joy.

BENEDICTION

Leader: In this season of Advent, may the Father’s light shine in your darkness.
May the Spirit open our eyes to see His coming, and may Jesus’ glory outshine the tinsel, the gifts, and the hustle and bustle of the season. Go in hope of the peace He brings to the world. Peace be with you.

Congregation: And also with you!
