Short North Sunday Gathering Liturgy - November 24,
2024
Carry Sunday with you into your week by pausing to reflect on the readings, prayers, and songs we shared in together as the body of Christ.
CALL TO WORSHIP
Congregation: The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.
The world and all its people belong to him.
For he laid the earth’s foundation on the seas and built it on the ocean depths.
Leader: Who may climb the mountain of the Lord?
Who may stand in his holy place?
Only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never tell lies.
They will receive the Lord’s blessing and have a right relationship with God their savior.
Such people may seek you and worship in your presence, O God of Jacob.
Leader: Open up, ancient gates!
Congregation: Open up, ancient doors, and let the King of glory enter.
Leader: Who is the King of glory?
Congregation: The Lord, strong and mighty; the Lord, invincible in battle.
Leader: Open up, ancient gates!
Congregation: Open up, ancient doors, and let the King of glory enter.
Leader: Who is the King of glory?
Congregation: The Lord of Heaven’s Armies—he is the King of glory.

CONFESSION AND ASSURANCE
(Come Thou Fount)
O to grace how great a debtor, Daily I'm constrained to be
(I owe my entire life in service to the grace of God)
Let Thy goodness like a fetter, Bind my wand'ring heart to Thee
(God’s goodness is what tethers my wandering heart to Him)
Prone to wander Lord I feel it, Prone to leave the God I love
(How easily and often do we drift and turn our backs?)
Here's my heart O take and seal it, Seal it for Thy courts above
(Ephesians 1: In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.)
