Short North Sunday Gathering Liturgy - November 3,
2024
Carry Sunday with you into your week by pausing to reflect on the readings, prayers, and songs we shared in together as the body of Christ.
CALL TO WORSHIP
Come, let us sing joyfully to the LORD, the Rock of our salvation! Let us come to him with songs of thanksgiving and praise. For the LORD is a great God, the great King above all gods.He holds in his hands the depths of the earth and the mightiest mountains. The sea belongs to him, for he made it. His hands formed the dry land. Come, let us worship and bow down and humbly worship the LORD our maker, for he is our God. And we are the people he lovingly watches over with tender care.

CONFESSION AND ASSURANCE
Congregation: Forgive us, Father, for putting our hope in the frailness of this world. We confess that we trust in the systems of men instead of Your grace. Our hearts grow anxious and we look for safety outside of Your steadfastness.
Leader: You remind us that the temporal things of this world will not last, but the things of You are everlasting. Remind us to put our hope not in the kingdoms of this earth, but in Your Kingdom.
Congregation: To a world filled with confusion and sorrow, help us to be a light, to spread Your peace, love and mercy. That all may know Jesus is the true king, and that all may rest in this truth. Amen.

COMMITMENT
Leader: There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. What shall separate us from the love of God?
Congregation: Not tribulation, nor distress, nor persecution, shall separate us. Neither death nor life, angels or rulers, nor things present or to come, nor powers, nor height or depth, nothing in creation, can separate us from the love of God, in Christ Jesus, Our Lord.
- Based on Romans 8
