Short North Sunday Gathering Liturgy - May 26, 2024
Carry Sunday into your week with you by continuing to reflect on the readings, prayers, and songs we shared in together as the body of Christ.
CALL TO WORSHIP
Congregation: Come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come to him with thanksgiving. Let us sing psalms of praise to him.
Leader: For the Lord is a great God, a great King above all gods. He holds in his hands the depths of the earth and the mightiest mountains. The sea belongs to him, for he made it. His hands formed the dry land, too.
Congregation: Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the Lord our maker, for he is our God. We are the people he watches over, the flock under his care. Come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.
Based on Psalm 95:1-7

CALL TO CONFESSION AND ASSURANCE
Congregation: Lord, in our sin and need, we turn to you, our Savior.
Leader: You hear our voices when we call on you for help. You are always near to us. You stand ready and waiting to break down our idols, bringing us near to you in our weakness, fear, loneliness and struggle.
Congregation: You are our rescuer from all our troubles. You are our comfort, coming close to us who are brokenhearted, and refreshing our crushed spirits.
Leader: We trust your word, which tells us that everyone who trusts in you will be freely redeemed. You withstood the heavy load of our guilt and delivered us from the penalty that we so deserved. You do not heap guilt and condemnation on us, but instead you wrapped yourself in flesh so that we could see and touch your glory and learn of your steadfast love and faithfulness.
Congregation: Thank you for Your faithfulness to us in the midst of our weakness! Thank you for your unending grace!

Leader: I pray that you, being rooted and established in love as the family of God, may have power to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
