5.12.24 - Short North Gathering Liturgy

Short North Sunday Gathering Liturgy - May 12, 2024

Carry Sunday into your week with you by continuing to reflect on the readings, prayers, and songs we shared in together as the body of Christ.

CALL TO CONFESSION AND ASSURANCE

Leader: Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin. He became the perfect sacrifice to absorb the wrath of God for our sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence because in the cross all of our sin was taken away and we were dressed in the righteousness of Christ. We now stand before God, perfect in Christ, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Based on Hebrews 4:14-16

COMMITMENT

Congregation: We give You thanks, great God, for the hope we have in Jesus, who died but is risen and rules over all. We praise You for His presence with us. Because He lives, we look forward to eternal life, knowing that nothing past, present, or yet to come can separate us from Your great love made known in Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

A prayer from the Common Book of Worship
