Why do we persist in boasting in our own achievements even when we see our achievements as minuscule and empty when compared to the greatness of the Lord?

How has God shown himself faithful and trustworthy to you? How has He given you grace in times of trial to show that his strength and grace is sufficient?

How is the hope of redemption, for Israel in this passage, and for us today, wrapped up in Jesus as the root and shoot of Jesse?

What does the world hope for when it desires peace? And, how is the world’s understanding of peace different then the peace we see possible only through Jesus?

How does the already-not yet tension brought about in this passage affect believers today? How can a misunderstanding of this tension bring frustration or lead to bad theology?

What is the hope (for eternity and today) believers have in the truths in this passage?
