1. In Isaiah 36, the King of Assyria used several arguments that were practical and wise by the world’s standards. Yet faith in God called Hezekiah to reject what seemed so logical and convincing. Why do worldly wisdom and faith contrast so sharply?

2. In what ways have / do you follow the ways of worldly wisdom instead of trusting in God?

3. How does living a life of faith in Jesus affect how you interact with the world?

4. When realizing that he had trusted Egypt and others, rather than trusting God, Hezekiah repented (ch. 37). What things do you need to lay before the Lord in repentance?

5. Too often, we follow the way of the world by being short-sighted and forgetting how God has dealt faithfully with us. Remember – How has God shown his faithfulness to you in the past and how does he reveal his faithfulness to you today?

6. In repentance, Hezekiah was driven to God in prayer. How does prayer reflect the position of Hezekiah’s heart?

7. What concerns or worries do you need to lay before the Lord in prayer, trusting in His faithfulness to act?
