2.8.26 - Short North Sunday Gathering Liturgy

Short North Sunday Gathering Liturgy - February 8, 2026

Pause to reflect on the readings, prayers, and songs we share in together as the body of Christ at Sunday morning worship Gatherings.

CALL TO WORSHIP

CongregationThis forever-song we sing of the gentle love of God! Young and old alike will hear about your faithful, steadfast love—never failing! Here’s our chorus: “Your mercy grows through the ages. Your faithfulness is firm, rising up to the skies.”

Leader: All heaven will praise your great wonders, Lord; myriads of angels will praise you for your faithfulness. For who in all of heaven can compare with the Lord? What mightiest angel is anything like the Lord? The highest angelic powers stand in awe of God. He is far more awesome than all who surround his throne.

CongregationO Lord God of Heaven’s Armies! Where is there anyone as mighty as you, O Lord? You are entirely faithful.

- Psalm 89:1-2, 5-8

CONFESSION // ASSURANCE

Leader: Lord, this world is not as it should be. We lament all that is broken. We long for what is broken to be made right.

CongregationOur hope is In you, Jesus. You are our everything. May we lean on and rest in you wherever we may find ourselves today. We thank you for the Spirit, who leads us, guides us, comforts us, and who is always present with us. Amen.

BENEDICTION

Leader: Go in the faithfulness of God,
who has established you in Christ—
anointed, sealed, and claimed as His own.

Because all God’s promises are Yes in Jesus,
live with gospel integrity and gospel motivation,
as a people formed by grace and sent in faithfulness.
Peace be with you.

CongregationAnd also with you!

This playlist is updated each week with songs from the previous Sunday's Gathering:

Song Lyrics:

King of Kings
Verse 1
In the darkness, we were waiting, without hope, without light
Till from heaven, You came running, there was mercy in Your eyes
To fulfill the law and prophets, To a virgin came the word
From a throne of endless glory, To a cradle in the dirt

Chorus
Praise the Father, Praise the Son, Praise the Spirit, Three in One
God of glory, Majesty, Praise forever to the King of Kings

Verse 2
To reveal the kingdom coming, and to reconcile the lost
To redeem the whole creation, You did not despise the cross
For even in your suffering, You saw to the other side
Knowing this was our salvation, Jesus for our sake You died

Verse 3
And the morning that You rose, All of heaven held its breath
Till that stone was moved for good, For the Lamb had conquered death
And the dead rose from their tombs, and the angels stood in awe
For the souls of all who'd come, To the Father are restored
And the church of Christ was born, then the Spirit lit the flame
Now this gospel truth of old, shall not kneel, shall not faint
By His blood and in His name, In His freedom I am free
For the love of Jesus Christ, Who has resurrected me
It Is Well
Verse 1
When peace like a river attendeth my way When sorrows like sea billows roll
Whatever my lot thou hast taught me to say It is well, it is well with my soul

Verse 2
Tho' Satan should buffet, tho' trials should come Let this blest assurance control
That Christ has regarded my helpless estate.
And hath shed His own blood, for my soul

Chorus
It is well - with my soul
It is well, it is well with my soul

Verse 3
My sin (O the bliss, of this glorious thought)- My sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross and I bear it no more, Praise the Lord, praise the Lord O my soul

Verse 4
And Lord haste the day, when my faith shall be sight,
The clouds be rolled back as a scroll
The horn shall resound, and the Lord shall descend, Even so it is well with my soul
Fix My Eyes
Verse 1
When my heart is weary, when my soul is weak
When it seems I can’t traverse the trail before me
I survey the glory of your agony
And I find the will to fight for what’s before me
Cause you ran the race enduring for your glory

Chorus
I fix my eyes on you
The founder and the finisher of our faith
I fix my eyes on you
The solace in your suffering is my strength

Verse 2
As I fight to follow, you’re my righteous guide
And you train me to delight in all that’s holy
Heal my broken body, cure my crooked stride
Throw off every weight and sin that clings so closely
I will run the race enduring for your glory

Bridge
You help me breathe, you’re the only life I need
You died for me, you’re the only life I need
None But Jesus (Soló Cristo)
Chorus 1
There is no one else for me
None but Jesus
Crucified to set me free
Now I live to bring Him praise

Chorus 2
No hay nadie como tú
Sólo Cristo
Moriste por mí en la cruz
Viviré para alabar
O Fount of Love
Verse1
O fount of love divine that flows from my saviors bleeding side
Where sinners trade their filthy rags for His righteousness applied
Mercy cleansing every stain now rushing o'er us like a flood
There the wretch and vilest ones stand adopted through His blood

Verse 2
O mount of grace to thee we cling from the law hath set us free
Once and for all on calvary's hill love and justice shall agree
Praise the Lord! the price is paid the curse defeated by the Lamb
We who once were slaves by birth, sons and daughters now we stand

Verse 3
O well of joy is mine to drink for my Lord hath conquered death
Vic - tori - ous forevermore, the ancient foe is laid to rest
Hallelujah, Christ is King! alive and reigning on the throne
Our tongues employed with hymns of praise, Glory be to God alone!
Hallelujah, Christ is King! alive and reigning on the throne
Our tongues employed with hymns of praise, Glory be to God alone!
Hallelujah, Christ is King! alive and reigning on the throne
Our tongues employed with hymns of praise, Glory be to God alone!
Glory be to God alone! Glory be to God alone!
