6.1.25 - Short North Sunday Gathering Liturgy

Short North Sunday Gathering Liturgy - June 1, 2025

Pause to reflect on the readings, prayers, and songs we share in together as the body of Christ at Sunday morning worship Gatherings.

COMMITMENT

Congregation: For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

— based on Ephesians 3:14-21

BENEDICTION

Leader: May the peace of the risen Christ be with us.
As He breathed His Spirit on the disciples, so He sends us—filled with His presence, carrying His grace into the world. Peace be with you.

Congregation: And also with you!

Song Lyrics:

All Hail King Jesus
Verse 1
There was a moment when the lights went out
When death had claimed its victory
The King of love had given up His life
The darkest day in history

Verse 2
There on a cross they made for sinners
For every curse His blood atoned
One final breath and it was finished
But not the end we could have known

Pre-Chorus 1
For the earth began to shake, and the veil was torn
What sacrifice was made, as the heavens roared

Chorus
All hail, King Jesus, All hail the Lord of heaven and earth
All hail, King Jesus, All hail the Savior of the world

Verse 3
There was a moment when the sky lit up
A flash of light breaking through
When all was lost He crossed eternity
The King of life was on the move

Pre-Chorus 2
For in a dark, cold tomb, where our Lord was laid
One miraculous breath, and we're forever changed

Chorus

Bridge
Let every knee, come bow before the King of kings
Let every tongue, confess that He is Lord
Lift up your shout, let us join with all of heaven
Singing holy
Singing holy
You are holy
You are holy
Open the Eyes of My Heart (Abre Mis Ojos)
Verse 1
Open the eyes of my heart, Lord
Open the eyes of my heart
I want to see You, I want to see You

Verse 2
Abre mis ojos, oh, Cristo
Abre mis ojos, te pido
Yo quiero verte, Yo quiero verte

Chorus 1
To see You high and lifted up
Shining in the light of Your glory
Pour out Your power and love
As we sing holy, holy, holy

Chorus 2
Y contemplar tu majestad
Y el resplandor de tu gloria
Derrama tu amor y poder
Cuando cantamos santo, santo

Bridge 1
Holy, holy, holy
Holy, holy, holy
Holy, holy, holy
I want to see You

Bridge 2
Santo, Santo, Santo
Santo, Santo, Santo
Santo, Santo, Santo
Yo quiero verte
Abba
Verse 1
In the moments when nothing makes sense,
as we wander in the wilderness;
we've been searching for your love; searching for your answer
we've been searching for your love
In the moments when the storm clouds shadow,
and our window of escape has narrowed;
we've been crying for your help; crying for your rescue
we've been crying for your help; crying for your help

Chorus
(but) You turn your ear to your children
You spread your open arms
And not one prayer will be wasted
You hear us when we cry out "Abba!" "Abba!" "Abba!"
You hear us when we cry out "Abba!" "Abba!" "Abba!"

Verse 2
In the moments when everything hurts,
and we can't imagine anything worse;
we've been pleading for the cure; pleading for your healing
we've been pleading for the cure
In the moments when our grief rolls in,
and it suffocates the hope within;
We’ve been clinging to your Word; clinging to your promise
We’ve been clinging to your Word, clinging to your Word

Chorus

Bridge
(And) your Word tells me that you want to be my everything,
that you want to be close to me; you are my father, you are my father

Chorus
Consider Him
Verse 1
For the joy set before him
He endured the cross
Knowing from the beginning
It would be worth the cost

Pre-Chorus 1
Fix your eyes
O my soul
On the one
Who gave it all

Chorus
Consider Him the Author and
The Finisher Oh lift your head and look to Him
The Son of Man
My weariness is swallowed in
The kindness of our covenant
Consider this, consider Him
He is everything

Verse 2
For the joy set before us
We will lay aside
Every weight, every burden
To behold our prize

Pre-Chorus 2
Turn from all
Other things
Set our gaze
On the King

Bridge
We will run this race
Focused on Your face
You won’t let us grow weary
We’re not made to sprint
It’s a pilgrimage
You won’t let us lose heart

Ending
He is everything
He is everything
He is everything
He is everything
Goodness of God
Verse 1
I love you, Lord
For your mercy never fails me
All my days, I’ve been held in your hands
From the moment that I wake up
Till I lay my head
I will sing of the goodness of God

Chorus
All my life you have been faithful
All my life you have been so, so good
With every breath that I am able
I will sing of the goodness of God

Verse 2
I love your voice
You have led me through the fire
In darkest night you are close like no other
I’ve known you as a father
I’ve known you as a friend
I have lived in the goodness of God

Chorus

Bridge
Your goodness is running after,
It’s running after me
Your goodness is running after,
It’s running after me
With my life laid down, I’m surrendered now
I give you every thing
Your goodness is running after,
It’s running after me

Chorus
I Thank God
Chorus
He picked me up, He turned me around
He placed my feet on solid ground
I thank the Master, I thank the Savior
Because He healed my heart, He changed my name
Forever free, I am not the same
I thank the Master, I thank the Savior
I thank God
