5.11.25 - Short North Sunday Gathering Liturgy

Short North Sunday Gathering Liturgy - May 11, 2025

Pause to reflect on the readings, prayers, and songs we share in together as the body of Christ at Sunday morning worship Gatherings.

COMMITMENT

Leader: Let us lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the author and the finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Congregation: Jesus, we were made to abide in You. We turn from the empty promises of the world and choose to remain in Your love. Prune what is not fruitful in us, and grow in us what brings You glory. Let our lives bear the fruit of Your Spirit, rooted in Your Word and filled with Your joy. We belong to You—now and always.

— based on Hebrews 12 and John 15

BENEDICTION

Leader: Go now in the confidence that Jesus is King. He is greater than any throne, higher than any power, and more worthy than anything this world can offer. May our hearts rest in the truth that His kingdom is not of this world, and that in Him, we have everything we need. Walk in His peace, live in His love, and hold fast to the hope of the One who reigns forever. Peace be with you.

Congregation: And also with you!

Sunday's music:

Our Great God
How Deep the Father’s Love for Us
Consider Him
Dame a Cristo (Give Me Jesus)
O Fount of Love

This playlist is updated each week with songs from the previous Sunday's Gathering:

Song Lyrics:

Our Great God
Verse 1
Eternal God unchanging mysterious and unknown
Your boundless love, Unfailing in grace and mercy shown
Bright seraphim in ceaseless flight around Your glorious throne
They raise their voices day and night in praise to You alone

Chorus
Hallelujah glory be to our great God
Hallelujah glory be to our great God

Verse 2
Lord we are weak and frail helpless in the storm
Surround us with Your angels, Hold us in Your arms
Our cold and ruthless enemy, His pleasure is our harm
Rise up O Lord and he will flee, Before our sovereign God

Verse 3
Let ev'ry creature in the sea, And ev'ry flying bird
Let ev'ry mountain, Ev'ry field and valley of the earth
Let all the moons and all the stars in all the universe
Sing praises to the living God who rules them by His Word
How Deep the Father's Love For Us
Verse 1
How deep the Father's love for us, How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son, To make a wretch His treasure
How great the pain of searing loss, The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the Chosen One, Bring many sons to glory

Verse 2
Behold the man upon a cross, My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice, Call out among the scoffers
It was my sin that held Him there, Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life, I know that it is finished

Verse 3
I will not boast in anything, No gifts no power no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection
Why should I gain from His reward, I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart, His wounds have paid my ransom

Outro:
Why should I gain from His reward, I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart, His wounds have paid my ransom
Consider Him
Verse 1
For the joy set before him
He endured the cross
Knowing from the beginning
It would be worth the cost

Pre-Chorus 1
Fix your eyes
O my soul
On the one
Who gave it all

Chorus
Consider Him the Author and
The Finisher Oh lift your head and look to Him
The Son of Man
My weariness is swallowed in
The kindness of our covenant
Consider this, consider Him
He is everything

Verse 2
For the joy set before us
We will lay aside
Every weight, every burden
To behold our prize

Pre-Chorus 2
Turn from all
Other things
Set our gaze
On the King

Bridge
We will run this race
Focused on Your face
You won’t let us grow weary
We’re not made to sprint
It’s a pilgrimage
You won’t let us lose heart

Ending
He is everything
He is everything
He is everything
He is everything
Dame a Cristo (Give Me Jesus)
Chorus
Dame a Cristo, solo a Cristo
Dejo todo por Él, dejo todo por Él

Chorus
Give me Jesus, Give me Jesus
You can have all this world, You can have all this world
Fount of Love
Verse1
O fount of love divine that flows from my saviors bleeding side
Where sinners trade their filthy rags for His righteousness applied
Mercy cleansing every stain now rushing o'er us like a flood
There the wretch and vilest ones stand adopted through His blood

Verse 2
O mount of grace to thee we cling from the law hath set us free
Once and for all on calvary's hill love and justice shall agree
Praise the Lord! the price is paid the curse defeated by the Lamb
We who once were slaves by birth, sons and daughters now we stand

Verse 3
O well of joy is mine to drink for my Lord hath conquered death
Victorious forevermore, the ancient foe is laid to rest
Hallelujah, Christ is King! alive and reigning on the throne
Our tongues employed with hymns of praise, Glory be to God alone!
Hallelujah, Christ is King! alive and reigning on the throne
Our tongues employed with hymns of praise, Glory be to God alone!
Hallelujah, Christ is King! alive and reigning on the throne
Our tongues employed with hymns of praise, Glory be to God alone!
Glory be to God alone! Glory be to God alone!
