5.4.25 - West Sunday Gathering Liturgy

West Sunday Gathering Liturgy - May 4,
 2025

Carry Sunday with you into your week by pausing to reflect on the readings, prayers, and songs we shared in together as the body of Christ.

PSALM

Psalm 71

CALL TO WORSHIP

Leader: Church, we gather today not as those who have all the answers, but as those who are eager to learn from the One who does. The Lord is not silent—He speaks through His Word, His Spirit, and His people.

He teaches the humble, and gives wisdom to those who ask.

Congregation: So let us lay down our pride, quiet our hearts, and open our hands to receive what God longs to give.

Leader: Come—let us worship the God who is patient to teach and faithful to lead.

CONFESSION AND ASSURANCE

Leader: Father, You are wise and full of mercy— yet we often close our ears to Your instruction. We prefer our own way. We resist correction. We assume we already know what we need.

Congregation: Forgive us for our pride. Forgive us for our slowness to listen and learn. Shape in us a teachable spirit. Humble our hearts. Make us ready to be changed.

Leader: God is not discouraged by our resistance. His love is steadfast, and His mercy never runs out.

Congregation: In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven—again and again. He is faithful from beginning to end, and He will complete the work He’s started in us. Thanks be to God!

BENEDICTION

Leader: Go now as people eager to listen, willing to grow, and ready to be led. May the Spirit of truth guide you, may the Son walk with you, and may the Father shape you - not just today, but every step of the journey ahead. Peace be with you.

Congregation: And also with you!
