4.20.25 - Short North Sunday Gathering Liturgy - Easter Sunday

Short North Sunday Gathering Liturgy - April 20, 2025 - Easter Sunday

Pause to reflect on the readings, prayers, and songs we share in together as the body of Christ at Sunday morning worship Gatherings.

CALL TO WORSHIP

Congregation:
Joyful is the sound we make this morning!
For this day liberates us from doubt and fear.
Thankful is the song we sing!
For this day moves us past darkness and despair.
Hopeful is the prayer upon our lips!
For this day awakens in us long-awaited new life.
Christ lives here and now.
He is among us at this and every moment!

— The Worship Sourcebook, pg. 629, based on Matthew 18:20

ASSURANCE

Leader: And you, who were dead in your sin, God made alive together with Christ (speaking Christ’s resurrection from the dead!), having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands.

Congregation: Our sins He set aside, nailing them to the cross.

Leader: He disarmed the forces of evil and death and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them with the risen Christ. Hallelujah! Christ is risen!

Congregation: He is risen indeed! Hallelujah!

—Based on Colossians 2:8-15

BENEDICTION

Leader: Go now with hearts full of joy, for Christ is risen—just as He said.
Like the women at the tomb, may we run with reverent awe to share the good news: Jesus is alive!

May the risen Lord go before us, filling us with courage, peace, and resurrection hope, and may His presence be our constant joy, now and forevermore.

Leader: Hallelujah! Christ is risen!

Congregation: He is risen indeed! Hallelujah!

Leader: Peace be with you.

Congregation: And also with you!
